Ivar’s Rebrand

Ivar’s is a well-know seafood bar and restaurant based in Seattle Washington. Founded in 1938 Ivar’s has become a staple of fine dining in the Pacific Northwest. For a fun freelance project I wanted to take on the task of rebranding this historic restaurant chain. For the new logo design my mind went to the man who started it all, Ivar Hagluand. He was such a character and icon himself I thought it’d be perfect to have him as the new logo. The logo had to look clean and simple yet still keep some familiar features. The typeface also had to tie the whole new look together. I wanted to keep the typeface similar to its previous design. To complete this project I designed stationary pieces, souvenir shirts, uniform designs, and a style guide.
